In our honored marquee classes, these were the winners. In fact, Scott was also the winner of a very special award, which was presented by and voted upon by the Creative Workshop. The Spirit of Restoration award celebrates an individual who survived a non-professional restoration and persevered through all of the difficult, impossible and seemingly never ending issues. Jon Dega, General Manager of Creative Workshop, presented the award this year to Scott in honor of his year restoration project.

He bought his TR3A when he was just nineteen years old, and his work is evident in his very beautiful automobile! We had two classes of Jaguar winners. We had several MG Class winners. The parking lot where are car show is held is set amidst flowering gardens and fountains! A big thank you also goes out to all of our sponsors and vendors that supported our Club with their ads, goody bag items and raffle prizes. Dining on the covered deck of the restaurant and overlooking the picturesque view of the Atlantic Ocean, we enjoyed great food and great company. The Dune Deck is a favorite destination for the Club, as witnessed by the large turnout. More than seventy participants including members of the Club joined by friends and several members of the Miata Club occupied a good portion of the restaurant.

They are open everyday for breakfast and lunch and specialize in great food with a great view! Their location always brings new clientele, as well as many repeat customers, such as the Club; and we always get a friendly greeting from one of the brothers! After breakfast, many of us chose to linger in the parking lot outside of the restaurant. We admired Triumphs, MGs, Jaguars, Lotuses, and more, new cars and older models, each with owners and stories to tell!

Exactly alike on the outside, but each car in its own state of renovation and restoration under the hood! Michael bought his TR6 about fifteen years ago and he lives in Connecticut in the summer. Whereas, Murray is a part-time resident of Illinois and he became a member of the Club six years ago. We also met Barney Gaylord formerly from Naperville, Illinois.

Barney and his son Elliott started a journey on May 5, traveling the country in their MGA towing a small car trailer and visiting as many MG Clubs as they can. Barney stated that he started this journey after he officially retired; he sold his home; and he took to the road in a leisurely fashion. He remains a member of the Chicagoland MG Club and he maintains a website: MG owners and Clubs can contact him via his website and he will gladly make a visit as his intention is to visit as many clubs as he can throughout the entire country!

He is a hands-on guy with a wealth of knowledge about MGs. He repairs his own MGA and will help others as well. This remarkable little car is still going strong with over three hundred thousand miles; his love for his car is evident.

She was a Bug Eye Sprite; the icing on the cake was she was driven by an equally lovely young lady. After the formal introduction to the young lady I was introduced to the Bug Eye. The car had a mild cam with Webber carburetors, tuned headers and exhaust, oversized Pirellis on wire wheels. I never forgot my first introduction to British Sports Cars and to this day the Love continues.

I have owned a Spitfire which I drove for several years when I lived in Spain and shipped her home to be driven for several more glorious years. And today I am the proud original owner of a TR6.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoy the thrill of the drive and the music of exhaust notes on our road trips with the Gold Coast British Sports Car Club.

Jim was born in Saginaw, Michigan, but was a Florida resident for more than fifty years. He had a long-time love of British cars, his first one being an Austin Healey. He and his son Jay enjoyed restoring Triumphs. Jim bought his Red TR3 about sixteen years ago, and it is still a work in progress.

However, about six years ago, he and his son began restoration of a Red TR6. When completed, that car was a winner! Jim was also the proud grandfather of two granddaughters 4 year-old Jacey and 8 year-old Morgan.

In fact, Morgan is also fond of British cars and enjoys going to car shows with her Dad Jay. Jim was a member of the Club for eleven years; his enthusiasm, love and dedication to his family will be missed. Royal Palm Place is an excellent spot for our Car Show, lots of space, great restaurants and shopping, as well as all the British cars!

We will have our Memorabilia Table, vendor spaces, entertainment and of course our Awards Presentation! All owners of British Cars are invited! Treasure Coast Classics is a clean, neat and organized shop, specializing in vintage and classic European cars, especially British. Adam provides services including repairs, maintenance, upgrades and restoration with a commitment to quality and value. In fact, a few of our Club members who attended the tech session stated that they would be confident in having Adam work on their British cars and would recommend his garage to other customers.

The group of car enthusiasts showed up in style with their vintage British vehicles taking up a good portion of the parking lot outside the local eatery that sunny Saturday morning. The fellowship was unmistakable as the crowd of South Florida car aficionados chatted and laughed together at lunch. They expect over vintage cars, dating back to the early s, to be showcased.

There, they received an educational tour of the site by Executive Director of the mansion, JoEllen Phillips. Phillips spoke of the rich history of the mansion and how its founder Glenn Curtiss — aviation pioneer, land developer and all-around innovator — was an unsung hero.

It was obvious that the group was intrigued by all of the stories of that Phillips was telling about the past. Many of them posed questions that she was able to answer swiftly and energetically. He wanted to bring people in to show them how beautiful the city is and to give recognition to the group of people that put in so much effort to get the mansion restored.

This event was held on Saturday, November 7 th , and included a classic car show, an aircraft static display, entertainment and kids zone. Whether you came for the classic and vintage cars or planes, the airplane or helicopter rides, the many vendors that provided pilot-related information or the entertainment, the venue and comraderie were great!
