As an advocate for improvement and growth of Seminole for more than the 54 years that he resided her, he was active in numerous civic and business organizations beginning with the initial investments of monies by many Seminole citizens and businesses to bring Blue Bell now Wrangler to Seminole when it located its first plant in the old Gulf Oil camp along Harvey Road.

He, along with several other Seminole citizens, were instrumental in the relocation of Enviro-Systems to Seminole and the completion of city utilities for development of what is now Seminole Estates.

In addition, he was a longtime member of the Seminole Planning Commission. As one Seminole citizen described him, "he was a pusher for the good of Seminole. One of the biggest attainments in the mind of Bob Clausing was his induction as one of 12 original inductees in to the Seminole Hall of Fame.
